What I Do And Where I Am From
What I Do?
I write songs and poems that tell stories, and I weave stories into every performance.
I am especially able to engage my audiences: human to human, compassion, joy, humor. People feel at ease around me.
And where am I from?
Born in Los Angeles...and if nothing is an accident then being born in the dwelling place of the angels must mean something. That was 1958. My birth father was eclectic in his musical tastes, and played a few times with Hoyt Axton ("I Dream of Highways" still gives me chills).
I played cello a bit, and saxophone...found guitar and piano and harmonica later.
As much poet as musician...
I grew up with vinyl and loved liner notes, so all my albums include a track of oral liner notes, and background.
